Project Description
Rotary Club of Damak, in collaboration with Damak Toastmasters, organized an informative talk program titled "Women's Health Across Life Stages: Maternity Care, Mental Well-being, and Healthy Living After 40" to celebrate July Rotary Month – Maternal and Child Health. The session aimed to raise awareness about women's health during pregnancy, the postnatal period, and after the age of 40, while also highlighting the importance of mental well-being throughout these life stages.
The event was graced by Deputy Mayor Regina Bhattarai Prasai and featured an expert session by gynecologist Dr. Sita Rai. The program was coordinated by Joint Secretary Rtn. Jasmine Karanjit Shrestha.
A unique aspect of the program was the inclusion of both women and their spouses, emphasizing that maternal health is a shared responsibility and that partners play a vital role in ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of mothers.
The program enhanced participants' understanding of maternal and women's health across different life stages, encouraged timely medical care, promoted awareness of mental health issues related to pregnancy and aging, and reinforced the importance of spousal support in achieving healthier families and stronger communities.
