“Rotary Chhahaari” Fruit Forest Project

Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height organized,
“Rotary Chhahaari” Fruit Forest Project at Shree Janak Secondary School,
Namobuddha, Kavre supported by Sanskriti Farms and Research Center,
Rotary Club of Cranbrook Sunrise and Rotary Club of Colombia Center from
Rotary District 5080 under the project name “Nepal School Support
Initiative”.
Project is aimed to promote“ Environmental conservation , food security”
The event saw active participation from Rotary members, Family members,
Local stakeholders; including school officials and community leaders.
Rtn. Shree Krishna Dhital, President of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height
and agricultural expert; led technical demonstrations on planting and soil
management. Preparations included pit digging and organic fertilizer
application to enhance early growth.
A total of 700 fruit and nut trees; such as apple, peach, apricot, plum, lemon,
pear, macadamia, and walnut was distributed to students . Total 10 plants
were also planted by Rotarians at the unused farmland operated by the school.
The School Management Committee committed to regular care and
maintenance, while the Rotary club will conduct quarterly follow-ups.
Aligned with District Governor, Vishnu Bahadur Karki’s campaign to plant
100,000 saplings across Nepal, this initiative reflects Rotary’s dedication to
environmental sustainability and community welfare.
With a total cost of USD 3000 Dollars (excluding transport and fellowship),
this project stands as a model of collaborative and impactful service.
