250 Tree Plantation

In a significant step towards environmental conservation, the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Metro, in association with the Rotary Club of Budhanilkantha, successfully organized a tree plantation and riverbank clean-up campaign at the Dhobikhola River Corridor, Budhanilkantha.
During the program, 250 Jacaranda saplings were planted while Rotarians and Rotaractors also carried out a clean-up of the riverbank, reinforcing Rotary's commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being.
The initiative was led by Rtn. Kumud Kattel, President of the Rotary Club of Budhanilkantha, and Rtn. Ramesh Neupane, President of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Metro. The event received enthusiastic support from the Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Metro, Rotaract Club of Metro City, and the Rotaract Club of Budhanilkantha, whose members actively participated in both the plantation and clean-up activities.
The campaign was organized in support of Rotary International District 3292 District Governor Rtn. Bishnu Bahadur Karkee's ambitious goal of planting 100,000 trees across the district during the current Rotary year. By planting Jacaranda trees and restoring the cleanliness of the Dhobikhola River Corridor, the participating clubs demonstrated Rotary's dedication to protecting the environment and creating healthier public spaces.
Addressing the participants, the club leaders emphasized that environmental stewardship is one of Rotary's key areas of focus. They encouraged citizens to care for the newly planted saplings and work collectively to preserve rivers, parks, and other public spaces for future generations.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment from all participating Rotary and Rotaract clubs to continue organizing impactful environmental initiatives under Rotary's theme, "Create Lasting Impact." The successful collaboration highlighted the strength of partnership, volunteerism, and community engagement in building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Nepal.
