Project Description

Shrawan 11, 2083 (July 27, 2026)
Under the nationwide "100,000 Tree Plantation Campaign" being conducted by Rotary District 3292, Nepal–Bhutan, the Rotary Club of Central Banke successfully carried out a tree plantation program by planting 150 saplings within the premises of Tikapur Municipality and along the Tikapur–Khakraula Road section.
The program was attended by Rotary officials, the Mayor and employees of Tikapur Municipality, Municipal Police personnel, representatives of various stakeholder organizations, and local youths. Through collective voluntary participation, saplings of different species were planted with the objective of making the central section of the Tikapur–Khakraula Road greener and more beautiful.
Addressing the gathering, Rotarian Manish Mandal, Kailali Project Coordinator of the Rotary Club of Central Banke, said:
"Tree plantation is a priceless investment for future generations. Since roadsides are among the most suitable places to spread awareness about environmental conservation, this initiative will help develop a sense of responsibility toward nature throughout the community."
Ms. Nirmala Chaudhary, Chief of the Forest, Environment and Disaster Management Branch, appreciated the Rotary Club for selecting the municipality as the venue for the tree plantation program and for contributing to environmental conservation. She also requested the club to continue implementing similar service projects in the future to promote environmental protection.
The program was attended by Rotarian Manish Mandal, Rotarian Pashuram Chaudhary, Mr. Suman Ghital, Chief Administrative Officer of Tikapur Municipality, Mr. Rajendra Rawal, Ms. Nirmala Chaudhary, Chief of the Forest, Environment and Disaster Management Branch, Mr. Yagman Sethi, Coordinator of the Local Government Strengthening Program, Mr. Pahal Shah, Chief of the Municipal Police, along with municipal employees and other distinguished participants.
On the occasion, Rotarian Ishwori Jung Malla, President of the Rotary Club of Central Banke, stated that the "Rotary Tree Plantation Week 2026" program reflects Rotary's commitment to environmental conservation, social responsibility, and responsibility toward future generations. He noted that the campaign successfully embodies Rotary's international theme for the year, "Create Lasting Impact."
