Project Description

Nepalgunj, July 25, 2026

A large-scale tree plantation program was organized today at the premises of the Integrated Check Post (ICP), Nepalgunj. The program was organized by the Rotary Club of Central Banke in collaboration with the Integrated Check Post, Nepalgunj, the Nepalgunj Customs Agents Association, and TAS Atlas Logipark Pvt. Ltd. The event was held under the Chief Guest Mr. Janardan Poudel, Chief Customs Officer of the Integrated Check Post, Nepalgunj.

Among those present at the program were Armed Police Force Deputy Superintendent of Police Tirtharaj Neupane, Security Chief of the Integrated Check Post; Tarkaraj Joshi, Terminal Manager of TAS Atlas Logipark Pvt. Ltd.; senior journalist Jhalak Gaire; Engineer Bibek Lamichhane, Vice President of the Nepal Valuers Association; environmental campaigner Hemant Raj Kafle; Dinesh Baniya, President of the Nepalgunj Customs Agents Association; T.S. Thakuri, President of Nepalgunj Marathon; office bearers of the Rotary Club of Central Banke; officials of the Customs Office; members of the Customs Agents Association; and other distinguished participants.

The program witnessed the participation of around 50 individuals, during which approximately 500 saplings of various species were planted. This information was shared by Chakra Giri, a member of the Rotary Club of Central Banke.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr. Janardan Poudel emphasized the importance of tree plantation in maintaining environmental balance and stressed that equal attention should be given to the protection and proper care of the planted saplings to ensure their survival.

According to the program coordinator Saroj Regmi, Rotary District 3292 is observing Tree Plantation Week 2026 from 26 July to 1 August 2026, with an ambitious target of planting 100,000 trees across the country as part of its environmental conservation initiative.
