Coffee Plantation Programme

The Rotary Club of Chitwan planted 1,000 coffee saplings in Bulingtar-4, Chuliboja as part of Rotary District 3292's goal of planting 100,000 trees during the Rotary year.
Rather than planting ornamental trees, the club selected coffee plants to achieve a dual purpose—protecting the environment while creating sustainable economic opportunities for local families.
Coffee cultivation is expected to improve green cover, help conserve soil, contribute to climate resilience and provide villagers with an additional source of household income in the years ahead. The initiative reflects Rotary's commitment to "Creating Lasting Impact" by delivering benefits that are environmentally sustainable and economically empowering.
Speaking during the programme, Club President Gehendra Man Shrestha highlighted that Rotary Club of Chitwan has been implementing long-term community development projects in the area through the Rotary Community Corps (RCC). He also shared that the club is currently implementing a Global Grant drinking water project to provide safe drinking water to every household in the community.
Through environmental conservation and sustainable livelihood initiatives, Rotary Club of Chitwan remains committed to serving communities while building a healthier, greener and more prosperous future.
