Rotary Club of Central Banke Leads Massive Plantation Drive in Kailali; Nearly 5,000 Saplings Planted
KATASE, KAILALI — In a major initiative aimed at environmental conservation and community forestry enhancement, the Rotary Club of Central Banke successfully completed a massive two-day tree plantation drive in Katase, Ward No. 09 of Janaki Rural Municipality, Kailali.
The eco-driven initiative was organized with support from the Rotary Community Corps (RCC) Chetana Samudaik Bikash Manch and in close collaboration with the Chetana Samudaik Ban Samuha.
Over the course of two days, local volunteers, community members, and Rotary representatives worked side-by-side to plant nearly 5,000 tree saplings across designated areas of the local community forest. The effort aims to restore greenery, prevent soil erosion, and build biodiversity within the region's forest ecosystems.
The successful execution of the drive was headed by Rtn. Manish Mandal, who served as the Project Coordinator for Kailali District.
"Mobilizing community action for environmental sustainability is a core priority," noted project organizers. "Planting nearly 5,000 saplings in two days demonstrates what local collaboration between community forest groups and civic clubs can achieve."
The local community forest user committee expressed deep gratitude to the Rotary Club of Central Banke and partner organizations for choosing Katase as the project site, committing to care for and protect the newly planted saplings to ensure high survival rates in the coming months.
Out of 5000 plants, nearly 1000 plants were planted by RC Central Banke and RCC Chetanan Samudaik Bikash Manch.
