Project Description
As the first service project of Rotary Year 2026–27, the
Functional Literacy Program conducted in the Dibarna
Takura area of Arghakhanchi concluded with a closing
ceremony on July 5, 2026.
The program, which ran from June 10 to July 5, 2026, aimed
to provide basic literacy skills to participating women. Its
primary objective was to empower them with practical
everyday skills, including using mobile phones, understanding
the amount written on cheques, signing their names, and
reading simple newspapers and printed materials. Project was
supported by basic education and literacy (BE &L)RID3292.
Project and cost was 150000
The closing ceremony was graced by Mr. Krishna Prasad
Shrestha, Mayor of Sandhikharka Municipality, as the Chief
Guest. The event was attended by Immediate Past President
Rotarian Baburam Banjade, Rotarian Keshav Poudel, and
other club members.
The program was conducted at two locations and directly
benefited 40 women, helping improve their literacy,
confidence, and independence in their daily lives.
